Pat…I enjoy reading your column in MailMax and I know you use it frequently to highlight the accomplishments of local people and businesses. Would you allow me to express my most sincere thanks to two very special people… Monica Bolin (Moxie’s Boutique) and Gail Lueth. Many people know that I’ve been doing medical mission work for almost 20-years. However, with a now empty nest, my pace has accelerated and I am away 2 or 3 moths of the year working in some of the poorest countries in the world. My most recent trips have been to Uganda, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Indonesia. These trips, including extra medical supplies, end up being quite costly. To raise funds, I brought back pashmina scarves from Pakistan. Gail has given demonstrations of creative ways to wear & tie a pashmina at three sales events. I cannot thank Gail enough. Monica knocks my socks off! Not only did she host a pashmina event, she is selling them in her store with 100% of the sales price going to underwrite my mission activity. She is a class act, and I couldn’t have done it without her. Thanks, Monica! I leave for Darfur in April. You cannot imagine how powerful the generosity of these women is until you experience a mother’s joy when, unlike other children, this baby lives because we had the right supplies. The reverberations of their kindness will last a long, long time. Thanks Pat. Prudy Barrett Nelson. Thank YOU, Prudy for sharing and for caring. Godspeed to you.
That’s it for this week, kids. See you Saturday with a new edition.
